Dhruba Sen has a record of fighting for the minority community for decades. He has been organizing racial and social justice rallies & standouts, holding Know Your Rights educational forums, testifying at the State House in support of legislation that helps the minority community, and working with advocacy groups for the minority community. He also financially and logistically supports women who are victims of domestic violence.
Dhruba Sen had joined regularly the picket lines of the Saint Vincent's Nurses, actively participated in Keep the Cap and Where is The Funding movements by public school teachers, in the movement for Safe Communities Act, Workers' and Family Mobility Act. He organized protest rallies against ICE vans waiting outside Framingham District Court to pick up "Suspected" undocumented immigrants who went to the court to testify in criminal cases. Dhruba organized educational forums for immigrants on the ICE internal memo on "Sensitive Locations".
His run is not for local offices like the school committee, town meeting, or city council. His work will relate to how the State can address issues faced by his constituents, the city administration, the city council, and various city committees. Dhruba will not try to micromanage their work but will work collaboratively with them. There are issues this majority-minority district faces including but not limited to the redistricting fiasco, major traffic congestion, DESE and other state agency support for the school system, and state laws preventing the Cities and Towns from passing ordinances/bylaws which will address environmental issues (this is big for South Framingham), support home rule petitions when needed, support the Youth Demand to Lower the Voting Age (MA Vote 16 bills).
He will also work towards more transparency in Government function - and expanding the applicability of Public Records Law to the Legislature and the Executive, work on election reforms, Reform the criminal justice system including No-Knock Warrants, and Protect the rights and interests of immigrants and the minority community in general. He will work for the small business community - particularly the Indian small business community.
He has been a Democratic activist for decades and was a Neighborhood Team Leader for the Obama 2008 and Obama 2012 campaigns. He had actively canvassed for Democratic candidates in MA, OH, and NH. He was an activist with They See Blue working for the Biden-Harris campaign. Dhruba Sen is active in Indian community events.
Dhruba Sen is an Information Technology Specialist and a Data Scientist. He has lived in Framingham for decades and was a Town Meeting Member - and was a member of the Rules Committee, Ways & Means Committee, Education Committee, and Community Services Committee.
He is a Know Your Rights (KYR) graduate of the South Asian Bar Association, holds a Master's in Applied Statistics, a Certified Software Development Professional from the IEEE Computer Society, and a Certified Scrum Master and Project Management Professional (PMP).

Mr. Dhruba Sen is running for State Representative for the sixth middlesex legislative district. Mr. Sen has been a resident of Framingham for decades. He has a long record of working with and fighting for the minority community by organizing social justice rallies, holding Know Your Rights Educational forums, testifying in support of legislations which help the minority community, and working with advocacy groups for the minority community. Even though Mr. Sen is an Information Technology Specialist and a Data Scientist by profession, he embodies several social work values in his work with diverse groups. He has organized several racial and social justice rallies, has testified at the State House in support of legislations which help minority groups, and has also worked extensively to advocate for minority communities. He is a strong advocate for self-determination of people, especially the minority communities he has helped in the past. He plans to work on issues faced by his constituents, and work collaboratively with city administrations and various city committees, not by micro-managing them but by empowering them to advocate for themselves, by furthering their self-determination. He understands the importance of human relationships and is an advocate for building a strong community by strengthening the family. He has testified in support of legislation for victims of domestic violence. Mr. Sen also plans to work towards more transparency in Government function, Protect the rights and interests of immigrants and the minority community in general. He will work for the small business community – particularly the Indian small business community. He wants to be known as a champion of social injustice.
I strongly endorse Mr. Dhruba Sen for State Representative.
Jaya Asthana, MSW, LICSW, ACSW,
I personally endorse Dhruba Sen for MA State Representative from Sixth Middlesex Legislative District. I've known Dhruba for several years as an activist and community leader. I feel that Dhruba may bring a grassroots perspective that is much needed.
